Panthers fall to Bolingbrook 30-31

Bolingbrook squeaked by Oswego 31-30 in double overtime when Coach Brian Cooney went for a two point conversion and came up one yard short.  It was the second time Oswego lost to Bolingbrook in overtime during a playoff game and knocked the Panthers out of the state playoff series.

Bolingbrook won the toss for the first overtime series and each team scored a touchdown.   Bolingbrook won it again for the second overtime and scored when Antonio King ran it into the end zone.  Oswego answered with a catch by Jack Lemke and brought the game to within a point.

Cooney was faced with a choice and opted to go for two points to end the game.  He opted to go with his fullback Jack Hugeinen, who had been effective during an earlier drive.  This time he was stopped at the one yard line and Oswego’s season ended.

Lemke finished the game with 135 yards while Panther Quarterback Cole Pradel ended the game with 188 passing yards.
