Melania Trump news: FLOTUS attacked by protestors as she cuddles addicted babies | World | News

The First Lady learned about the cause but doctors, nurses and hospital staff feared her visit sent the wrong message. Almost 200 people protested outside the hospital after telling Melania to cancel her visit. But Melania focused on the point of the visit which stems from her Be Best initiative.

Melania said: “As you may know, this is an issue I am very focused on. I hope today’s visit helps shine a light on programs like yours.

“It is so important to acknowledge and show gratitude for what you are doing to help.”

Hospital staff held signs outside the BMC while some wore white doctor’s coats that had ‘we really care do u?’ written on the back – a reference to the time the first lady wore the ‘I don’t really care, do u?’ jacket.

Democratic Rep. Ayanna Pressley said: “For the thousands of vulnerable patients – especially immigrants, people of color, and new moms and babies with serious health concerns.

“Today’s visit is more than just a photo opportunity.

“It’s a chance to remind and educate the Secretary and First Lady of the ways in which our medical centers work to eliminate disparities and ensure that all people, regardless of income and immigration status, have a fundamental human right to health care.”

Melania visited the cuddling program at the BMC which treats babies born with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS).

The First Lady often visits hospital as part of her Be Best initiative.

Kathleen Hurst said: “Can’t she just go away and take her big baby with her.”

One user called Dee savagely said: “The only thing the first lady knows how to cuddle is her bitcoins and diamonds, probably stuffed away in a vault in Switzerland.”

But some users supported the First Lady’s visit to the Boston hospital.

One user said: “Love you so much Melania.”
